ORIENTAL WHITE-EYE


whiteeyecropOriental White-eye, Zosterops palpebrosus, is a small cute bird that is found  from India to Southeast Asia.They have a white eye-ring, yellowish-green back and white belly.They feed on nectar and small insects and they usually form flocks.This bird inhabits broadleaved forests, secondary growth, mangroves, cultivated areas,parks and gardens.

In Thailand is located up to 1525 m,locally 1830 m.Notice the yellowish ventral stripe,grayish-white sides and yellow forehead (  ssp.siamensis ) ; the 2 latter traits allow to distinguish from Everett’s White-eye.This photo was taken by me in Doi Inthanon, in Inthanon Royal Project Garden.
